      What do you believe?

From a cursory analysis of this thread, there seems to be some correlation:

INFJs tend to choose a spiritual doctrine whose moral principles line up with their own, but it's not clear whether they believe in the mythology of their chosen religion or not. But I would guess not.

INTPs pick some kind of philosophical dogma either related to the interpretation of the universe or a simplified "best practices" algorithm. But not a religion. It seems most INTPs (this might be white-biased; I apologize) are atheists.

ENTPs tend to be agnostic. Though from personal experience I would guess this is an oversimplification. If other ENTPs are like me in this respect, I imagine what's going on is that ENTPs have multiple beliefs simultaneously and that we are constantly engaged in an internal debate about which one is more valid and more elegant. Or, at least, we were the last time we had an interest in religion.

INTJs... I don't have as much data as I would like. But it looks like INTJs, rather than subscribe to an existing religion or philosophy, tend to invent some belief system that extends measurable scientific principles into a philosophical and spiritual domain, whose elements are often derived from a mixture of personal intuition and inspiration from other religions

INFPs capture the phrase "religious relativists" while often having very strong spiritual beliefs of their own. Unlike INFJs, as far as I can tell, INFPs are avid believers in the mythology of their chosen faith

      What do you believe?

I don't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

      What do you believe?

I grew up in a non-religious society (as the majority as Scandinavia is) with agnostic parents. I identify as an atheist today and I try my best to base my beliefs on the amount of evidence for it and the scientific method.
I do however find religions and religious beliefs very interesting and inspiring, and I like to hear why people believe in what they do (not to mention that the most beautiful buildings were constructed as religious monuments).

      What do you believe?

yes i think there have been studies on this topic actually. there was another four temperament theory born out of one of these studies.

iNxx are known as the truth seekers and seen to be the most likely (correlated) type to be mystics or of mystical spiritual type thinking. it makes sense for sure when i think about it because all the iNxx i know do think most deeply about the nature of existence, in general.

      What do you believe?

ENTJs are known as being the type that is least likely to believe in an active and personal supreme deity. Being a scientist, I'm not seeing the evidence.

So what do I believe? I believe I'll get up and have my breakfast, thank you..

      What do you believe?

I believe people are not stupid. I think, people who are atheists are saying: our anchestors were stupid. I don't think so, I think if we see smoke, there has to be a fire. In every legend there is a real core.

So I'm believing in the Religion of everything( every faith) Combined. I probably should become the first pope for my newly found religion :) There is one Creator, lets call it Zero. Zero is the beginning of everything. Out of Zero came the Mother( Earth) & the Father (Sky) and they had many babies together: Wind, Fire, Water, Sand & Ice. Those babies were once upon a time known as Greek, Roman or Egyptian Gods. They have been known by other societies as well, but used different names, a different image. When the praising people stopped believing in them, they took a different name. I believe, if I'm smart, my God is even far more smarter than me. If we believe the wise words of Merlin the wizard in the movie, where he says: If no one believes in you anymore, you are bound to dissapear, then I'm of the faith that my Christian God is the smartest, wisest God of them all. So when the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians stopped believing, he just said to himself:' Oh no, that's not going to be true. I'm not going to dissapear, so wait.. oh hey Moses, do you want to lead your people away to freedom?'... And his two brothers saw him doing this, and decided to follow his footsteps. ;) Now we have God, Allah and Yawheh and guess what, we could stop fighting, they are just brothers. When the Fathers went ahead, the families begged them to take them with them, so... now we have angels. Some of them weren't so happy so decided to be rude, and went down to Hell. Hell is the same as Fire, Fire is what happens if you make War. Lucifer/Devil/Satan/Morningstar/Azazel = Mars/Ares.... And that is as far as I'm today. I still have a whole life to figure it out.

If we die, our body dies and is put into the ground, it returns to ash. Our soul/spirit will be already gone by then. Where to? Well, some say the spirits roam the earth to help the living, some say the spirit/soul takes it to the next level, what's the next level? I'm wondering between Afterlife and reacarnation. But I think that every person who is now alive on this earth, the soul has had a life before. I'm not sure what your soul was, or where it was. In this milky way or another. In this dimention or another. Was your soul human or animal? I don't know, but I do know that our souls are all old. But who knows, maybe your soul could be a godly soul before this life? Maybe you were an angel, maybe a vampire, maybe a unicorn, maybe a fairy, maybe a dog, maybe a dolphin, maybe an alien, maybe a tree, maybe a rock, maybe Moonboy for all I know. So, that's the answer for people who don't have memories of a previous life, you were probably living in a total different form, maybe even in a total different milkyway. Cause yes, I do believe as well in the fact that Star Wars is going to be our future. The Universe is unending, sure as hell we aren't the only ones in the universe then. Maybe Heaven is in a total different milkyway. And other dimentions are just different planets.

So yes, I do believe in Magic as well. But you need to get deep into yourself to find your magical abbilities. the same with the need to go deep in yourself to find your own divine.

But it's not in everyones lifes-purpose to think about all those religions, faiths, mythical things. Sometimes you have a total different purpose in life than mine. Sometimes your purpose is to be practical and live/enjoy the life in following the flow.

      What do you believe?

I was raised Methodist, but what has worked for me is looking at Christianity through a Buddhist lens, which I have called "spiritual practice."

I believe that God is love and we are born of that love. God/love is the only true way to define ourselves. The world, circumstance, thoughts, emotions, etc. twist that love and we then connect with roles, thoughts, and emotions. We need to be with those thoughts are emotions, calling them what they are and detaching from them. Only then can we connect to peace and love within ourselves and act from there.

Life is a journey home to the love we were born from and this journey is a moment to moment practice. Every second on this earth God trying to teach us something.

      What do you believe?

Christian, theologically "orthodox" (small o) and evangelical. Specifically a conservative Mennonite, which is evangelical/fundamentalist with some unique distinctives. I am not personally as conservative in an outward/cultural sense as my church is (referring to the plain dress and other standards like no tv or radio), but am firmly conservative and evangelical theologically. I believe that, due to the original sin in the Garden, the nature of man is corrupted and evil, and the only way to salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in absolute truth, and in the inerrancy of Scripture.

Also I think that, while some types may have tendencies toward one way of believing or another, it's not true that your type will determine what you believe, so we should avoid saying or implying that. I personally know INTP and ENTP Christians, and I'm sure there are INFP or other NFs who are atheists or agnostic. And not all INFPs are going to believe everything is relative and "you do you" or that truth is subjective and whatever someone believes is "their truth". They will think about and explain their faith - or lack of it - in a way that makes sense for their personality type, but it won't necessarily determine the content of their faith. There is so much more to people than simply personality type.

    • What do you believe?

Oh this was a while ago,

      I'm an absurdist now.

n philosophy, "the Absurd" refers to the conflict between the human tendency to seek inherent value and meaning in life and the human inability to find any. In this context absurd does not mean "logically impossible", but rather "humanly impossible".[1] The universe and the human mind do not each separately cause the Absurd, but rather, the Absurd arises by the contradictory nature of the two existing simultaneously.

Accordingly, absurdism is a philosophical school of thought stating that the efforts of humanity to find inherent meaning will ultimately fail (and hence are absurd) because the sheer amount of information as well as the vast realm of the unknown make total certainty impossible. As a philosophy, absurdism furthermore explores the fundamental nature of the Absurd and how individuals, once becoming conscious of the Absurd, should respond to it. The absurdist philosopher Albert Camus stated that individuals should embrace the absurd condition of human existence while also defiantly continuing to explore and search for meaning.

Basically, I don't believe the universe has a purpose or that it was created at all. I've come to realize that the universe does not have to have been created, we humans just desire to explain how it came to be.

There is no requirement that it came to be at all, we just seem to be stuck on the concept that it had to come from somewhere, when it didn't have to come from anywhere.

Matter is never truly destroyed, and it's never truly created from nothing, so if matter never disappears, then there is nothing that says matter had to come from somewhere.

We seem to ask "Where did it come from" yet there is no concrete example anywhere on earth where something comes from nothing, so why do we insist the universe had to come from somewhere? Why do we even ask this question?

A cake doesn't come from nowhere, we take raw ingredients and make it. We ask where those raw ingredients came from, and that would be plants, flour mills etc. We ask where those came from, and so on. But everything is made of the same base elements and particles, everything, and there is no requirement that any of that had to come from anywhere, yet we assume they did based on what evidence though?

It just seems illogical to the human mind, that something could just exist with no source, when in actuality, it could.

In short, I think the universe has always existed, time doesn't exist, and matter merely changes states, and life has no purpose and is just happen chance on this pass of the universe which expands and collapses over and over again forever.

Humans want to explain the existence of the universe, we want to know where it came from, and we want to believe we have souls and so on, but the possibility that we don't have souls and the universe didn't come from anywhere remains.

I think that our inability to find an answer is explained by the concept that there isn't an answer. We are asking a question, and looking for an acceptable answer, but the actual answer is the one we won't accept. In a nut shell.

"Often times, the simplest answer is the correct one even when it seems too simple to be true."

      What do you believe?

I believe in God. And, He believes in me...so much so that He has done everything possible to cause our relationship to start, grow, and flourish. Do you know God? He wants to know you.

      What do you believe?

I was asked this at a Unitarian Universalist introduction many years ago. The only thing I could say was what I was indoctrinated with. Which was Southern Baptist. I have long sense given that up. I want to believe but I just can't accept much of what the Southern Baptist movement was and is.
But this lead me to a paradox about faith. Someone tried to convince me that I am an atheist. But that did not register with me. Later on, someone tried to convince me that I am a theist. But that did register with me either. You see to be a theist or an atheist then you must have something that leads you to believe in one or the other. But neither perspective registers with me as true.
I study religions. I find interesting perspectives in different faiths. But I can't honestly tell you what I believe. And I have spent a lot of time both sober and inebriated and giving it a lot of thought.

      What do you believe?

I am a huge sceptic and I try to always remind myself that everything I know might be completely wrong. On the other hand, I am very opinionated and have low tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia etc. I am vegan and I consider myself an egalitarian and I am extremely sensitive to people commodifying and objectifying other living creatures. In short, I believe in love and respect for each other.

      What do you believe?

Eh, I was raised in a christian church so I kept most of my 'christian' values. (Though I would call them decent human values )

I don't attend church because of the ridiculous gossip and politics you find there. You'd think you were back in high-school, hearing some of the things I have heard.

I believe - to believe (in anything) is the humans childhood phase, then you are agnostic. Once you have gnosis and you don't act upon it you become an unbeliever. Life is harsh. In Buddhism you have to seek perfection, you will never reach it and That is perfection. You are never finished meditating/praying even if you are old. In Islam it is the same, i'm muslim.

      What do you believe?

My philosophical belief with regards to Typology is that you can never trust what you see (a belief in the legitimacy of doubt). It's kinda platonic, ya know, Plato's metaphor of the cave and shtuff. But this is not an ontological/existentialist questioning. It is more like a doubt/pessimism about a secular government where the wise philosophers rule. Let's say the philosophers are some select introverts who sat at home and did their homework and reading while the extroverts were advertising themselves and winning social capital among their peers.

Now, have you noticed recently how extroverts usually tend to downplay their extroverted qualities? All say things like, they are actually ambiverted and that they need alone time and tend to ponder about deep stuff and such. So basically, you don't see any of them admit approximating the 'jock stereotype' or that they are shallow, and especially that they had ever done their homework by an introvert. This category 'extrovert' has somehow transmuted into 'hipster,' 'knowledge worker,' 'marvel movies geek,' etc.

So back to philosophy and the pessimism. I said it's not an ontological one, like assuming this reality wasn't the ultimate and we lived in a simulated Matrix. No, my Cartesian doubt is rather biological: that people, instinctively knowing, won't hand a dead-on blueprint of their cognitive/emotional personality map to just anybody. No, similar to how Alan Watts argued about the mind as police chasing burglars incessantly, we are hardwired to lie about our personalities. A complete model of one's mind has all the vulnerabilities and Achilles heels. We, from the Global West, are all living times of social alienation were dating, unless you do it within a circle of friends, is more often than not a fruitless endeavor. Literally, everyone from the world can join a dating site such as this... they are just merely lead to it by Google: Middle Easterners, criminal gangs, mentally unhealthy working class people, members of the Brazilian mafia that dismember their victims, etc. Do you think men are really that naive to believe that if they just waited with an honest profile, some strong woman would descent to them like some Joan d'Arc ex machina? And do you think women are that naive to think that if they published their number of exes, their dating success ratio and the social class they try to climb out of with fishing for someone richer, then men would readily invest into them with courtship (i.e. emotional accommodation, time, money)? That if men could look up their blueprint, and thus with the mystery (the foundation of male fetishism of the woman) gone, they'd still be attracted? For in case you forgot, biologists keep having to update their medicine because deadly bacteria succeed each time in mutating to grow tolerant of it. So without a secular government where the wise philosophers keep the balance, how do you think Typology can be a science?

So yes, the internet is, in a sense the desert of the real. The shadows on the wall. The simulation without a referent.
